Day 1 Flight to Paris

Arrive in Paris, Welcome to France. Make your way to our centrally located hotel in the heart of Paris. This evening you will meet your hosts for a serene and romantic dinner Cruise of the Seine with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling before your eyes.

Day 2 Paris

After breakfast, we explore Paris with a walking tour through the Latin quarter and see where the seeds of revolution were planted. Visit the newly renovated Notre Dame Cathedral, rebuilt from the 2019 fire. Continue to see the Conciergerie and see where Marie Antoinette spent her last days before being sent to the guillotine! After lunch, perhaps at one of Paris many street cafes, we head to the louvre for a guided tour and get your chance to see the famous Mona Lisa.

 

Day 3 Versailles - Paris

We hop on a short train ride west to the Palace of Versailles. Tour what is perhaps the most famous palace on earth. Admire the state apartments and the hall of mirrors where the treaty of Versailles was signed at the end of WW1.  Explore the expansive gardens and see the playground of kings and queens in the Grand and Petit Trianon, smaller palaces on the grounds. Return to Paris and the afternoon is at your leisure. Options are endless, see the catacombs, climb the Eiffel tower, or perhaps shopping on the Champs-Elysees

Day 4 Paris - Normandy

This morning, hop on our private coach and pass the Arc de Triomphe as we travel towards the Normandy coast. Today we will visit some of the sites made famous by the British and Canadians on that fateful day of June 6, 1944, otherwise known as D-day. We will stop at Pegasus bridge, the first river crossing secured by the British Airborne. Continuing our D-Day experience at the Juno Beach centre, the beach where Canadian Boys landed on that fateful day. Lastly, we stop at Longues-Sur-Mer, the German battery that was part of Rommel’s Atlantic wall. Settle this evening in the Medieval town of Bayeux.

 

Day 5 Bayeux Normandy

Today we visit the American sites on D-Day, starting with mesmerizing Omaha Beach cemetery where over 10,000 soldiers are honored who made the ultimate sacrifice. Travel to Utah beach and the Utah Beach museum, one of the best D-Dday museums in all of Normandy.  After, we visit the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, site of the airborne landings, and immortalized in the John Wayne movie the longest day. We settle back in Bayeux for the evening

Day 6 Bayeux - Saint Malo- Mont St Michel

Say Au revoir Normandy and bonjour to Brittany. We travel to the idyllic coastal town of Saint-Malo. (familiar if you have watched the Netflix miniseries“ All the light we can not see”) Tour the ramparts and enjoy a seaside lunch before continuing on to the majestic Mont Saint-Michel where we will stay for the evening. After checking in to our hotel, visit the famous abbey for a tour. Enjoy the peaceful island at its best, in the evening when the day crowds have rescinded back to the mainland.

Day 7 Mont Saint-Michel – Loire Valley

This morning, we continue by coach south to the Loire valley, famous for castles and chateaus. We arrive in Amboise for some sightseeing and a chance to have lunch among this historic town, after which we visit the Clos-Luce, final home of Leonardo Da Vinci and see some of his inventions. We continue on to our beautiful accommodations for the next 2 nights and enjoy and afternoon swim.

Day 8 Loire Valley

This morning we'll visit the elegant, 16th-century Château de Chenonceau that straddles the river. Roam its opulent interior and gardens and then we will enhance the visit when we journey to its historic cellars to taste the Chateaus fantastic wine. After, opportunity to grab lunch on the historic grounds at its creperie. After lunch we will continue to Chateau Chambord, the largest Castle in the Loire, which has over 365 fireplaces and designs by Da Vinci himself.

Day 9 Loire Valley - Beaune

In the morning, we head east to the castle of Guedelon. The castle is being built using medieval building techniques. After a tour and demonstration, we travel

to the heart of Burgundy, and the idyllic town of Beaune.

Day 10- Beaune

Begin the day walking with a tour of the town and its eye-opening medieval charity hospital, the Hôtel Dieu. After touring enjoy some window shopping before our visit to the underground caves that cover the town. Tour and enjoy a tasting of the famous Burgundy wine. Afternoon is at your leisure to explore, take in another winery or perhaps treat yourself to the spa at our central hotel.

Day 11 Beaune - Paris

After breakfast, travel by coach north to the stunning Chateau of Fontainebleau. Enjoy a self guided tour of the Chateau and its gardens. Take a break for lunch before we journey back to Paris. 

 

Day 12 Paris - Home

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
