Day 1: Flight to Zurich (Aug 11/12)
Arrival in Zurich:
Your journey begins with a flight to Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, known for its combination of modernity and traditional Swiss charm.
Welcome Drink: In the evening, after your arrival, you’ll meet your hosts for a welcome drink, giving you the chance to meet fellow travelers and get ready for the adventure ahead. Zurich’s vibrant culture, lakeside views, and surrounding mountains make it an ideal starting point for your Swiss adventure.
Day 2: Zurich to Montreux (Aug 13)

After breakfast, you'll board a comfortable coach and embark on your scenic journey to Montreux, located on the shores of Lake Geneva. On the way, you’ll visit Bern, the capital city of Switzerland, famous for its medieval city center and the iconic Zytglogge clock tower. On a hot day, you will welcome the opportunity to jump into the Ayre river for a cool swim and rapid float down the river
Arrival in Montreux:
Later, you’ll arrive in Montreux, a lakeside town surrounded by vineyards and the Alps. The evening will be a perfect time to relax by the lakeside, enjoying spectacular views and perhaps sampling some Swiss wine at your hotel. TOLY Signature this evening included
Day 3: Montreux (Aug 14)
Start your day with a visit to Château de Chillon, a beautiful medieval castle on the shores of Lake Geneva. This castle, belonging to the Savoy Family, has a rich history and is said to have inspired works like Byron's poem The Prisoner of Chillon. It’s a must-see for history and architecture lovers. You may recognize it from a famous Disney movie
After touring the castle, hop on a steamer paddleboat for a scenic cruise on the lake, soaking in the majestic views of the Alps. This leisurely boat ride is both relaxing and scenic.
In the afternoon, you'll visit the Lakeside Vineyards, where you’ll enjoy a private tour and tasting of Swiss wines. The region is known for its wine production, and this intimate experience gives you the chance to savor the local varieties.
Day 4: Montreux to Murren (Aug 15)

Travel in style aboard the Golden Express, a scenic train journey that takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes in the world, passing through Swiss valleys and meadows, before ascending to the Alpine heights.
Once you arrive in the Alps, you will take a cogwheel and funicular train that leads you up to Murren, a car-free, cliffside village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The peaceful atmosphere here is perfect for unwinding.
Day 5: Murren (Aug 16)

Today, you’ll embark on an adventure to the Schilthorn summit, which sits at 10,000 feet above sea level. The Schilthorn was featured in the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and offers breathtaking views of over 100 peaks in the Alps.
After taking in the stunning views, your options are endless for the afternoon. You can enjoy scenic walking trails through the Alps or opt for a thrilling bike ride down the valley to the Trummelbach Falls, a series of impressive waterfalls inside the mountain. For the more adventurous, you can try via ferrata (a type of protected climbing route) or even tandem hang-gliding.
Day 6: Murren to Fussen (Aug 17)

Travel by coach to Lucerne, a city famous for its medieval architecture, where you'll visit the Chapel Bridge, the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe. Lucerne is also a great place to pick up some Swiss souvenirs—whether that be delicious Swiss chocolate, watches, or other unique items.
After shopping and sightseeing, you’ll head to Fussen, a charming Bavarian town in Germany. For dinner, perhaps enjoy a traditional Bavarian meal of Bratwurst (sausages), pretzels, and a liter of beer, completing your immersion into German culture.
Day 7: Fussen to Salzburg (Aug 18)

The day will be spent visiting two of Bavaria’s most famous castles. First, you’ll head to Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairy-tale castle built by King Ludwig II. This castle inspired Disney's Cinderella Castle, and its stunning architecture and dramatic location make it a must-see. After exploring Neuschwanstein, you’ll visit Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood home of King Ludwig II. This castle offers a different, yet equally fascinating perspective on Bavarian royal history.
Later we continue on to Salzburg where we will stay for the next 2 nights
Day 8: Salzburg (Aug 19)

Begin your exploration of Salzburg when we meet our local guide who will take us on our Sound of Music tour. And includes many of the city’s historic sights. You’ll visit Mozart's Birthplace and Mirabell Gardens. After , at your leisure and with ticket in hand, visit Hohensalzburg Fortress, which offers panoramic views over the city and the surrounding Alps. Tonight, experience a TOLY Signature evening with an iconic musical performance. We know you will love the strudel!
Day 9: Salzburg to Halstatt (Aug 20)

In the morning, depart Salzburg and embark on a journey to Obersalzberg, a scenic mountain region in the Bavarian Alps. This area was historically known as the location of Hitler's Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), a retreat built for Adolf Hitler. Upon arrival, you'll ascend in the famous golden elevator, a luxurious, yet imposing lift that takes you directly up the mountain.
Once at the top, perched on the edge of the mountain with panoramic vistas of the surrounding Alps. The site is a haunting look into the past, combined with extraordinary views.
Afterward, delve deeper into history as you visit the tunnels of the Berghof, Hitler’s former residence located nearby. The tunnels, carved into the mountainside, were used by the Nazis for various purposes during World War II. Walking through these tunnels, you’ll get a sense of the secretive and fortified nature of this location. The atmosphere here is both eerie and fascinating, as the site now serves as a reminder of the region’s darker history.
Continue our journey to Hallstatt, a village nestled between the mountains and a sparkling lake. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers breathtaking views, perfect for a photographer's dream.
Day 10: Hallstatt (Aug 21)
Start your day with a fascinating visit to one of the world’s oldest and most renowned salt mines. Journey deep into the heart of the mountain, where you'll explore ancient tunnels and chambers that have been carved over centuries. Learn about the crucial role salt played in the region’s history, from early mining techniques to its economic importance. The underground tour offers a unique glimpse into the past, with stunning views of the subterranean landscape.
Afterward, enjoy a relaxing boat tour across Hallstatt Lake, where you'll be treated to panoramic views of the alpine scenery surrounding this enchanting village. The tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural beauty of Hallstatt make it one of the most picturesque spots in Europe, providing the perfect end to your day of exploration.
Day 11: Hallstatt to Vienna (Aug 22)

Travel to Vienna, stopping at Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg monarchs. This palace rivals Versailles and is full of opulent rooms and beautiful gardens.
Continue your journey to Vienna, check in at your centrally located hotel, and start exploring the cultural heart of Austria.
Day 12: Vienna (Aug 23)

Discover the grandeur of Vienna, which was once the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Enjoy a walking tour of the beautiful baroque city. After you’ll attend a live performance at the Spanish Riding School, where the famous White Lipizzaner Stallions perform. These horses are trained in a centuries-old tradition, and the performance is truly magical.
The afternoon is at your leisure, perhaps visit the Hofburg Palace and Sisi museum. Don’t forget to savour some Schnitzel
Day 13: Vienna to Home (Aug 24)

After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight home, filled with memories of an unforgettable European adventure. Alternatively, you may opt for an extension to Prague for further exploration. (see below)

Day 13 Vienna – Prague Aug 24
We set out on our early morning high speed train to the elegant and charming Capital of Czechia. The City of Prague. After transferring to our 5* hotel, a 13th century Monastery at the foot of the Castle, we will set out on a walking tour. Just steps away, see the Medieval Charles bridge, before continuing to Wenceslas Square and the historic old town.

Day 14 Prague Aug 25
Prague Castle awaits, the traditional site of Czech Rulers. Visit includes St Vitus Cathedral, the old Royal Palace, and the golden lane shopping area. Enjoy panoramic views of the old city. Afternoon is at your leisure. This evening, consider a Czech Beer hall or one of their many nighttime musical concerts, or Jazz nightclubs!

Day 15 Prague - Toronto Aug 26
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
