Day 1 Flight to Rome
Welcome to Italy, arrive in eternal Rome. Get acclimatized and relax by the pool. This evening you will meet your hosts and fellow guests for a welcome drink.
Day 2 Sorrento, Amalfi Coast
After Breakfast, travel by private coach to the Amalfi Coast, where we will stay in the town of Sorrento for the next 3 nights. Enroute we will step back in time with a guided visit to Pompei, The Roman city that was famously buried when Mount Vesuvius erupted 2000 years ago. After, walk through beautiful lemon groves, before a wonderful dinner with views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
Day 3 Sorrento
Today we meet our local guide and driver for a tour on the narrow picturesque roads of the Amalfi Coast. we will wind our way to the towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. With time to explore, shop or catch some sun on the beach. Don’t forget the Limoncello!
Day 4 Sorrento
Set sail and get set to relax on our private mahogany boat for our day trip to the Isle of Capri, summer home of Roman Emperors. Admire the breathtaking cliffs as we tour around the island. Enjoy the riveting switchbacks as we head up to Ana Capri where we will catch a chairlift to the top! Enjoy lunch with stunning views. Perhaps shopping and a gelato before we head back to the boat for a chance to dive into the warm waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Dinner tonight is under a canopy of lemon trees.
Day 5 Sorrento - Rome
Bid farewell to the Amalfi and head to Rome. The city with perhaps the greatest collection of ancient sites and monuments among its cobble streets. Enjoy a guided tour of the Colosseum as well as the Roman Forum. Home of Gladiator battles and the centre of Imperial Rome. In the evening, join your host for a walk through the heart of Rome, we will see the famous Piazza Navona, home of the four rivers fountain. Next, the Pantheon, the single greatest preserved building from Ancient Rome. Continue on to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps.
Day 6 Rome
Set out early for the Vatican where we enter on a VIP tour before the doors open to the public. See some of the greatest works of art and complete the visit by entering the Sistine Chapel, and seeing the incredible work of Michelangelo. From there enter St Peters Cathedral, the largest and perhaps greatest church in the world. Exit out onto St Peters Square and marvel at Michelangelo's Dome. This afternoon is at your leisure. Perhaps, walk the Apian way, visit the Catacombs, or explore Trastevere.
Day 7 Rome – Montepulciano
This morning we meet our private coach and head to Tuscany. Stunning scenery awaits as we head towards the hill town of Montepulciano. Explore the winding medieval streets, before we tour and visit a winery known for its Vino Nobile. The cellar is cut deep into the rock, and once used by the Etruscans. Included TOLY Dinner at small local restaurant as the chef prepares world famous bistecca alla fiorentina (Florentine T-bone steak). In your free time, there is always opportunity to visit some of the many wine cellars that dot the town
Day 8 Montepulciano, Brunello country
Today, we will explore more of Tuscany as we head to Pienza, the Renaissance town built by Pope Pius II and known for its Pecorino cheese. Breathtaking vistas and panoramas await you as we head to a family run winery and farm in the middle of Brunello di Montalcino territory. Arguably one of Italy's finest wines. A guided tour of the winery and farm before we enjoy a zero kilometer lunch, where every ingredient is produced on the farm!
Day 9- Tuscany- Florence
On to Florence, the home of the Renaissance. See where Michelangelo's David stood for almost 400 years before being moved into the Accademia. Enjoy a guided tour of Florence where we have a chance to see Florence's famous wine windows, that were active during the Plague and saw a reemergence during covid. Cross the Ponte Vecchio and learn about the Medici, rulers of Florence. This afternoon is at your leisure or perhaps visit the Uffizi. Dinner this evening is across the Arno river,
Day 10 Florence
Get ready to climb the Duomo! 463 steps up. It’s worth the climb as you are rewarded with a grand view into the cathedral, a chance to see Brunelleschi’s dome within a dome and finally a breathtaking view of Florence. Included with your ticket, choose to visit the Baptistry, climb the Campanile (bell tower), visit the Duomo itself, or the superb Duomo Museum. This afternoon is yours free to discover, options including, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Museum, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens or Medici Chapels. Dinner this evening, Jason and Leanne highly recommend a dish of Pear Ravioli!
Day 11 Florence – Venice
Today we travel by highspeed train to Venice. On arrival, step out of the train station and take in the beauty that is Venice. And right in front of us, we are met by private water taxi that will meander through enchanting canals and deliver us directly to our central hotel. Enjoy a walking tour of St Marks Square and head over to Rialto Bridge, This evening we enjoy a private Venice cruise tour, before enjoying a fabulous canal side dinner
Day 12 Venice
Today, we visit the 1100 year old St. Marks Basilica. and hear the story of the famous horses that reside high above the Duomo. Following this a guided secret passages tour of the Doges Palace, and see the Bridge of Sighs as well as Casanovas cell. Afternoon is at your leisure to explore. At dusk, you will board your private Gondola, for a romantic evening tour through the canals.
Day 13 Venice - Home
Transfer by water taxi or water bus to the airport for your flight home.
